Max Immelman: 1890 - 1916 |
German World War I Ace. He flew a Fokker. Fokker was named after the
inventor, H.G Fokker, who was the first to successfully mount a machine gun on a fuselage
and safely engage the enemy without the worry of shooting off it's own propeller. Aiming
was much easier when the gun was directly in front of the pilot, instead of off to the
side as with most English planes. |
